Victoria Memorial Kolkata

Dakshineswar Kali Temple Kolkata

The temple of Dakshineswar also called Navaratna Temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali who is worshiped as Maa Bhavartarini “the Saviour of the Cosmos“. It’s one of the most important and oldest-built temples and dearest to Swami Vivekananda.  Rani Rashmoni had dreams of building the temple and she built it before leaving for her pilgrimage to Varanasi.

Belur Math Kolkata

is Located on the tributary banks of the river Ganga and is the headquarters of all the Ramakrishna Math. The place is a must-visit if you want to see the room where the greatest philosopher Swami Vivekananda lived. It’s one of the best places to relax from the day-to-day hustle of life.

South Park Street Cemetery

The place also known as the ‘Great Christian Burial Ground’ was among one of the first non-church cemeteries in the world. The final resting place of many great British personalities like  Sir William Jones and Henry Louis Vivan Derozio and many even different British administrators, soldiers, and their families.

College Street

College Street also known as “Boi Para” is a 900-metre-long street studied with both new and old book collections both on the stalls and the shops. It stretches from Bidhan Sarani Road to Bowbazar wia Surya Sen Street and MG Road Crossing. It’s one of the largest book markets in Asia and while being the second-largest secondhand book market in the entire world and a must-visit for all!

Kumortuli

Kumortuli means a potter’s house. More than 150 families are living here for about 300 years or more. They create beautiful idols of Goddess Durga for the 10-day-long Durga Puja festival. One must walk through the lanes of the potter’s community at least once in a lifetime.

Science City:

One of the top places to visit in Kolkata is the Science City. It was inaugurated in 1997 and is one of the largest centers run by the Government of India. The existing exhibition about Jurassic Park, the Aquatic World, and the Time Machine are real things to explore.
